Byron - JoAnn Leaton, 78 of Byron, passed away on Monday, (May 10, 2021) at her home under the care of her loving family and HomeCare & Hospice.
Mrs. Leaton was born January 2, 1943 in Oakfield, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Panek) Sumerski.
JoAnn is the wife of David Leaton of Byron; mother of Melody (Donald) Frisby of LeRoy, Tammy Stremvoght, Stacy Woodrich, Patrick Woodrich all of Batavia, and Linda (Barry) DeLong of Tennessee; mother-in-law of Bud Hoffmeister of Warsaw; sister of Ben Sumerski of Batavia. 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hoffmeister, and a sister, Anita (late Rich) Wyder.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery in Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 29 Liberty Street, Suite 6, Batavia, New York 14020.
