Irma R. Mooney, 84 of Oakfield, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013, with her family at her side at the Highland's Living Center in Pittsford, NY from complications related to Parkinson's Disease.



She was born November 5, 1928 in Stillwell, GA to the late Archibald and Leitner (Berry) Rahn. She is predeceased by her husband Richard "Jack" Mooney, sisters Vivian (Virgil) Zoller, Janet (Jim) Wiseman and brother Lawrence (Thelma) Rahn.



Irma was an active member of the Padre Pio Parish in Oakfield. For over 35 years, scores of women welcomed Irma into their homes as a representative of the Stanley Home Products company. Many of these acquaintances became dear and cherished friends. Others may recognize Irma as one of the "sample ladies" at the Tops Market in Batavia. In retirement Irma enjoyed quilting, baking and tending the extensive gardens around her Oakfield home. She also enjoyed travel including trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe and Ireland before Parkinson's Disease robbed her of the ability to do those things she loved.



Irma is survived by her children Joanne (John Myers) Mooney of San Diego; Richard (Julie Lenhard) of Fairport; Douglas (Ruthann Schulte) of Fortuna CA; Tina (John) Buckholz of Burke, VA; Amy (Phillip Alvarez) of San Diego; sisters Anna (James) Caire of Biloxi MS; Marise (Henry) Wilkins of Guyton; brother Berry (Sally) Rahn of Springfield GA. Irma is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Sean (Valerie Brown) Wheaton; Erin Brady both of Washington, D.C.; Michael Brady of San Diego; Caitlin Brady of Arcata, CA; Quinn and Reed Mooney of Fairport; Carly, Jude, Claire and Zeke Buckholz of Burke, VA and great grandson Nicholas Brown of Washington, D.C. . Also surviving Irma are sisters-in-law Florence (Fred)Mooney of Oakfield, Carol (Nelson) Stamp of Byron and brother-in law Jerold (Sue) Mooney of Penfield; dear friends Frank and Annette Pfalzer of Indian Falls and Ray and Debbie Fisher of Oakfield; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.



Family and friends are invited to share thoughts, memories as well as celebrate the life of Irma on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Burdett and Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Street, Oakfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March22, 2013 at the Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia Worship site. Internment will take place immediately following.



In lieu of flowers, donations to Irma's memory may be made to the Alter and Rosary Society of Padre Pio Parish, the National Parkinson Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
