Howard W. Busmire, Jr.
Byron - Howard W. Busmire, Jr., age 75, of Byron, a heavy machine operator at Iroquois Rock Products in Brockport, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.
Mr. Busmire was born July 29, 1937 in Ogden, a son of the late Howard William and Florence (Lapp) Busmire.
He was a 1959 graduate of the Byron Bergen High School, served with the US Army from June 11 1956 to June 10, 1959 and member of the Operating Engineers Local #832 in Rochester. He was a lifetime member of the Bergen Rod and Gun Club, and was an avid fisherman, hunter and wood worker. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Hodge) Busmire whom he married on May 29, 1961; 4 children, Roxanne (Alan) Leaton of Byron, Howard (Bettina) Busmire, III, Daniel Busmire and Andrew Busmire, all of NC; 4 brothers, Richard (Kathleen) Busmire of SC, Harris (Marjorie) Busmire of Bergen, Richard (Joyce) Sands of Bergen and Donald Sands of Rochester; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St, Bergen, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Byron Rescue Squad, PO Box 210, Byron, NY 14422. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery, Byron.
