LeRoy - Mr. Henry C. Hastings, 91, of LeRoy, formerly of Bergen, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at United Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Hastings was born January 23, 1922 in Albany, the son of the late Harry and Louise Arnold Hastings.
A member of the American Legion, Merrill-Sackett-White Post #575 in Bergen, he was a flag bearer during the annual Bergen parades. He was a member of the Bergen Library Book Club and Bergen Historical Society and served with the United States Air Force.
His wife, Katharine Jantzen Hastings, passed away in 2005. Survivors include his step-children, Michael (Gail) Vorkapich of California and Karen Vorkapich of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his loving companion, Ann Rogger of Churchville.
A time of visitation and gathering will be held at a later date. Please consider memorials to the Bergen Historical Society, 15 South Lake Avenue, Bergen, New York 14416 or to the humane society of your choice. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at Elmwood Cemetery.
