Alabama - Helen Bauer, 72, of Alabama, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Rochester General Hospital, in Rochester.
Mrs. Bauer was born October 2, 1939 in Alabama, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Horzempa) Mudrzynski.
She graduated from Oakfield Alabama High School in 1957, attended Calvary Baptist Church, was a member of the Alabama Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary and served as an Elections Inspector for many years. She was a former member of the Oakfield Alabama Baptist Church and enjoyed her flower gardens, cooking, baking and her granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph C. Bauer, whom she married July 16, 1960, a son, Ronald (Jannene) Bauer of Oakfield; a daughter, Linda (Joseph) Ferris of Bloomfield; 2 granddaughters, Bethany Ferris and Kayla Ferris, both of Bloomfield; 2 sisters, Amelia Brown of Basom and Josephine Mudrzynski of Oakfield; 2 brothers, Tony Mudrzynski and Henry (Janet) Mudrzynski both of Oakfield; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Mudrzynski of Elba; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Bernice Marble and Walter Mudrzynski.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3515 Galloway Rd., Batavia, where services will be at 11 a.m., Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Burial will be in Alabama Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, NY.
