Mr. Harry A. Kelsey, 92, of Oakfield, died Sunday (October 20, 2013) at Medina Memorial Hospital in Medina.
Mr. Kelsey was born July 11, 1921 in Alexander, a son of the late Henry and Lois (Parker) Kelsey.
Mr. Kelsey was a farmer and owned Kelsey Farms in Oakfield. He was a member of the Genesee County Soil and Water Board for 35 years, East Pembroke Grange, Indian Falls United Methodist Church and was a New York State Grange Officer. He was a director for the Genesee Patrons Insurance and drove bus for the Oakfield Alabama Central School District. Mr. Kelsey enjoyed farming and taking his family and friends to dinner.
Survivors include a special friend, Chris Shannon of Medina; his children, Laura (Carl) Schoonover of Oakfield, Douglas (Denise) Kelsey of Oakfield, Sandra (Rick) Buffolano of Sugarland, TX; a brother, Frank (Ethel Louise) Kelsey of Rochester; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Wilma (Stone) Kelsey died in1978. He is a brother of the late Lyle Kelsey, Charles Kelsey, Henry Kelsey and June Grice.
Calling hours are Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Services will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m.at the funeral home. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield.
