Batavia - Harriet M. Scopano Fasano, 76, of Batavia, a former owner at South Byron Hotel in South Byron, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at her home, in Batavia.
Mrs. Fasano was born August 26, 1937 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Michael and Florence (Guard) Palone.
She was a member of Polish Falcons Nest 493 and the former St. Nicholas Social Club of Batavia. She enjoyed her family and working in her garden. She had worked at the former Treadway Inn, Doehler Jarvis and Salways Store.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Frank R. Scopano, Sr., who died in 2002 and her second husband, Genaro Fasano, who died in 2009.
Survivors include 2 sons, Frank R. (Tammy) Scopano, Jr. of Batavia and Anthony (Rebecca) Scopano of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Christopher (Fiancé Mallory Lynch) Scopano of Bergen, Ryan (Kaitlyn Moucho) Scopano of Batavia, Philip Scopano and Gianna Scopano, both of Naples, FL; a brother, Allen (Ginger) Palone of Dansville; a sister, Lorraine Dombrowski of Batavia; several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Deborah Warboys and sister of the late Marie Cerce, Michael Palone, Jr., Mary Urtel, Doris Dombrowski, Ruth Anderson, Donald Palone and Edward Palone.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co, Inc., 403 E. Main St., Batavia where a short prayer will be said at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association of Western New York, 1595 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.
