Batavia - Gail Tooley, 60, of Batavia, a former Housekeeper at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia, passed away Friday,(November 8, 2013) at her home.
Ms. Tooley was born January 10, 1953, a daughter of Dorothy (Coddington) Tooley of Tennessee and the late Donald Tooley.
Gail was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia and for many years organized the clothes for the annual clothing giveaway. She had a heart for service, especially with children. She taught Sunday school and cared for several children in the area. She was strong in her faith and greatly enjoyed volunteering her time with the church in any way she could. Gail will be strongly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her mother, Gail is survived by her brother, Douglas Tooley of Tennessee. She is also survived by her church family and friends.
There will be no prior visitation. Gail's memorial service will be held on Wednesday, (November 20, 2013) at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia, 300 East Main Street, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church. Please indicate either the Children's Program or the Presbyterian Women. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bennington.
