Mrs. Edith R. Genagon, 86, of Elba, died Thursday (November 14, 2013) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.



Mrs. Genagon was born January 18, 1927 in Batavia, a daughter of the late William and Marie (Schudoma) Schultz.



A lifetime resident of the Byron and Elba areas, she graduated from Elba Central School in 1944. She was the Byron Clerk from 1970-1975 and was a bookkeeper for Torrey Farms in Elba. Mrs. Genagon enjoyed making afghans.



Survivors include a son, David (Tammy) Genagon of Elba; two grandsons, Jason (Stacy) Genagon of Caledonia and Joshua (Jennifer) Genagon of Henrietta; two great-grandchildren, Madison Genagon and Kara Genagon, along with several nieces and nephews.



Her husband, Myron F. Genagon, died in 1997. She is the sister of the late Frederick Schultz, William Schultz, Richard Schultz and Helene Forsyth Hough.



Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery, Byron.
