    Mr. Douglas Francis Laird

    December 26, 1961 - October 29, 2021

    East Bethany - Douglas Francis Laird, 59 of East Bethany passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Doug was born Tuesday, December 26th, 1961 in Batavia, a son of the late Charles Douglas Laird and Marguerite Johnson Laird. Doug enjoyed traveling, comic books and had a passion for music. He loved listening to the music from the 1950's and 1960's especially The Beach Boys, The Beatles and Sam Cook among many others. Doug played guitar and sang with the folk group at Immaculate Conception Church in East Bethany. He was a 1980 graduate of LeRoy High School and member of the LeRoy Pasta Club. Surviving are his children, Brian Laird of Stafford, Justin (Amanda) Laird of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Katelyn (Michael) Brazeau of LeRoy and their mother Jeri Laird; his "adopted children", Kohl (Amanda) Kingsland of Henrietta and Mackenzie Leone of LeRoy; grandchildren, Elise and Julia Brazeau; his "adopted granddaughter", Hannah Kingsland; brothers, Thomas (Kathy) Laird of Fort Pierce, Florida and Kenneth Laird of East Bethany; his sister, Catherine (William) Plaisted of Clifton Springs; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one great-great-nephew and cousins. He is predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Thompson and Mary Beth LaVare and his beloved dog Chewy. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, where his memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
