Batavia - Doris Z. Naegely, 88, of Batavia, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mrs. Naegely was born January 4, 1924 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Orrin and Ruth (Totzke) Ziegler.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batavia for over 50 years, served as a church Deacon, former chairperson of the Thrift Shoppe, and was a member of the church choir. She was a longtime member of the American Baptist Women and was very active in many affairs of the church. She enjoyed reading, knitting and crochet.
Her husband of 62 years, Donald W. Naegely, died January 15, 2007.
Survivors include 5 sons, Douglas Naegely of Michigan, Eric Naegely of Batavia, Paul (Stella) Naegely of New Jersey, Brian (Robin) Naegely of Colorado, and Karl Naegely of New York; 2 daughters, Nancy (Fred) Parody of Massachusetts and Martha (James) Morasco of Batavia 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gay of Syracuse and Sharon Ziegler of Rochester; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bohm-Calarco Smith Funeral Home, 308 E. Main St., Batavia. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Batavia. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Batavia, 306 E. Main St., Batavia, NY 14020 or to a charity of the donor's choice. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery.
