Derek Kenyon Sheldon
Bergen - Mr. Derek Kenyon Sheldon, 19, of Bergen, an employee at My-T-Acres in Batavia, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 as the result of a motor vehicle accident in the Town of LeRoy.
Derek was born December 21, 1993 in Batavia, a son of Daniel L. Sheldon and Karen A. Angel (Steve) Lashbrook, both of Bergen.
He formerly worked at Triple P. Farms in Oakfield, Pudgies Green House and was a Hunting Guide (Lic#7777) at Fingerlakes Hunting Service.
He was an award winning Duck and Goose Caller and an avid Hunter and sportsman. He enjoyed anything that was motorized. He is said to have lived life joyfully and to the fullest.
Surviving along with his parents are his brother, and best friend, Trevor D. Sheldon of Bergen; his sister, Sharlyn M. Sheldon of Bergen; his girlfriend Ashley M. Stillwell; his grandfather, Granger (Bernie) Angel of Johnsonville, FL; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St. Bergen. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of Bergen, 38 S. Lake St., Bergen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sheldon Family (to establish a scholarship in Derek's Name) c/o Daniel Sheldon, 14 McKenzie Street, Bergen, New York 14416.
