Batavia - Mr. Daniel M. Lathrop, 50, of Batavia, shop foreman at Emerson Express in Rochester, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at United Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Lathrop was born January 5, 1962 in Rochester, a son of Larry R. Lathrop of Byron and the late Clara S. Kaiser Lathrop.
A graduate of Byron Bergen High School and Ohio Diesel Tech Institute in Cleveland, Dan enjoyed playing golf, watching football, hockey and NASCAR. He liked going to stock car races locally and in the Fulton area with his family.
Surviving along with his father are his wife, Kathleen A. Tumminello Lathrop whom he married June 29, 1985; two sons, Shane and Aaron Lathrop, both of Batavia; a brother, Don (Judy) Lathrop of Syracuse; a sister, Tammy (Mike) Franklin of Caledonia; his grandmother, Shirley Lathrop of Florida; his mother-in-law, Rose Tumminello of Batavia; a brother-in-law, Tom (Karen) Tumminello of Oakfield; two sisters-in-law, Joanne (Mark) Tumminello of Bergen and Theresa (Peter) Falcone of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Amber Lathrop, Jessie McCann, Josiah, Ruth and Michael Franklin, Rob (Melanie) Tumminello and Michelle (Jeff) Kraska; a great-nephew, Brayden Scott Tumminello and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
