Batavia - Collin W. Crane, 17, of Batavia, a senior at Batavia High School, died Saturday, December 8, 2012 as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Stafford.



Collin was born November 26, 1995 in Batavia, a son of Jeffrey L. and Sherry M. (Gray) Crane of Batavia.



He was a salesman at Pete's Tree Farm, Chili, and also worked at Molasses Hill Bulk Foods in Batavia.



Collin was described as an excellent hockey player and played all positions well. He played for the Batavia Ramparts Hockey organization for 13 years and enjoyed video games and being with his friends. His employers called him a hard worker, funny and friendly.



Surviving along with his parents are a brother, Carson Crane of Batavia; a sister, Jamie (Michael Leone) McClurg of Batavia; his grandparents, Nancy (Jerry) Reszetucha of Bennington, Ronald Crane, Sr. of Bennington and Wilbur & Dawn Gray of Batavia; his great-grandmother, Donna Worthington of Batavia; his girlfriend, Taylor Cratsley of Byron; his aunts and uncles, Michelle Fenstermaker of LeRoy, Allen Gray of Batavia and Ronald & Beth Crane, Jr. of Bennington. He was also survived by several great aunts, great uncles and cousins. He leaves his dogs, Duke and Lola.



Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesee Amateur Hockey Association, P.O. Box 9, Batavia, New York 14021.
