Cathleen M. Kosiorek

Batavia - Cathleen M. Kosiorek, 80 of Batavia and formerly of Stafford, passed away on Thursday, (February 25, 2021) at her home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice and her loving family.

Mrs. Kosiorek was born May 19, 1940 in Staten Island, a daughter of the late James and Marguerite (Naples) Hackett.

Cathleen was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She was a member of Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph's Church in Batavia, the Investment Club, Garden Club in Stafford and Florida, and the St. Joe's Drum Corps. She loved lunches with the Stafford Girls and was a past member of the Stafford Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a former girl scout leader and softball coach.

A people person, Cathleen enjoyed wintering in Lauderdale by the Sea for 27 years, gardening, reading, and working puzzles. Most of all, she loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cathleen is the wife of Ronald F. Kosiorek of Batavia. The two were married on April 15, 1961.

Surviving along with her husband are her children, Sharon (Kazem) Ashrafioun of Pittsford, and Eric (Brenda) Kosiorek of Batavia; grandsons, Dr. Lisham (Dr. Christina) Ashrafioun, Aron Ashrafioun, Joshua (Courtney) Kosiorek, Caleb (Ashley) Kosiorek, Daniel Kosiorek, Michael Kosiorek, and Jacob Kosiorek; great-grandchildren, Mariana and Benham Ashrafioun, Barret, Susie, and Scotlynn Kosiorek; a brother, John (Kay) Hackett of Nevada; sisters, Mary (late Ward) Barrows of Cali., and Margaret (William) Houtchens of Virginia; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kuczynski of Batavia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by a son, Keith Kosiorek; great-grandson, Elias Kosiorek, and a brother, James E. Hackett.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street in Batavia. Cathleen 's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, (March 4, 2021) from St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street in Batavia. Burial will be in Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, 11 Liberty Street, Batavia, New York 14021 or online at www.crossroadshouse.com .
