Bergen - Benjamin E. Villareale, age 99, of Bergen, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Rochester General Hospital.   Mr. Villareale was born April 21, 1919 in Rochester, a son of the late Baldassare and Rosaria Villareale. A member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Mr. Villareale enjoyed gardening, including a strawberry business for several years and will be remembered for his devotion to his family. He served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He was a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation in Rochester from 1945 until his retirement in 1979. His wife, Betty Villareale, passed away on April 5, 1990. He is survived by his children: son Michael Villareale of Bergen, daughter Susan (Douglas) Hambach of Wisconsin, daughter Eileen (late Dale) Pickett of Byron, and daughter Linda (John) Boyce of Bergen. 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He is predeceased by his siblings, Agatha Villareale, Charles Villareale, Stella Gallo, Joseph Villareale, Genevieve Patridge, Elvira Timmons and Alfred Villareale. There are no prior visiting hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13th at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 44 Lake Street, Leroy, NY 14482. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Brigid's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy, New York 14482 or to Byron Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 210, Byron, New York 14422. Following graveside services at Grandview Cemetery, the family cordially invites friends and family including children to a reception at Terry Hills Restaurant, 5122 Clinton Street, Road, Batavia, New York 14020.
