Cheektowaga - Mr. Arthur W. Davis, 58, of Cheektowaga, passed away Sunday, (September 8, 2013) at the Buffalo VA Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Davis was born June 27, 1955 in Batavia, a son of Shirley A. (Borst) Davis of Florida and the late William Davis, Jr.
Mr. Davis served his country honorably with the Army and had an extraordinary sense of humor and could be very set in his ways. He was a collector of light houses and greatly enjoyed woodworking.
Art is survived by his wife, Theresa (Bres) Davis of Cheektowaga, children, Tracy (Troy) Davenport of Eaton, NY, Jason Davis of NC, and Eric Davis of Batavia; brothers, William (Mary) Davis, III of NC, and Steven Davis of FL; a sister, Pamela Davis of LeRoy. 5 grandchildren also survive.
He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mariah Cherry.
There will be no prior visitation. At Art's request, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org . Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, Batavia.
