    Batavia - Mrs. Arlene H. Hodgins, 85, of Batavia, died Tuesday (June 11, 2013) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Mrs. Hodgins was born January 11, 1928 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Walter and Ellen (Wight) Cook. Mrs. Hodgins was a lifetime member of the West Bethany Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Alexander Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Happy Agers and the West Bethany Cemetery Association. Mrs. Hodgins enjoyed traveling and volunteered at the Genesee Memorial Hospital Snack Shop. She worked part time at JC Penney and the former GTE Sylvania. Along with her late husband, they founded Hodgins Farm in 1951. Together they built the Log Cabin Restaurant in Indian Falls in 1947. Survivors include her children, David (Ruth) Hodgins of Alexander, Darlene (Carl) Burnell of Wright, Wyoming, Scott Hodgins of Batavia and Jeff Hodgins of Batavia; a sister, Sandra (Warren) Wood of Batavia; two sisters-in-law, Rose Hodgins of Basom and Shirley Cook of Florida. Nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Her husband, Kenneth W. Hodgins, died March 13, 1974. She is a sister of the late Walter Cook, Charles Cook, William Cook and Marilyn Cook. Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the West Bethany Baptist Church, 10333 West Bethany Road, East Bethany. Services will be at 1:00 Friday, also at the church. Burial will be in West Bethany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, NY 14021 or West Bethany Cemetery Association, 9561 Creek Road, Batavia, NY 14020.
