Mrs. Amelia Brown, 94, of Alabama, died Friday (March 22, 2013) at Crossroads House.
Mrs. Brown was born April 28, 1918 in Canada, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Horzempa) Mudrzynski.
She was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish, Alabama Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Alabama Homemakers. Mrs. Brown was the oldest member of the former St. Patrick's Church in Wheatville. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Smith of Corfu and Carol (Robert) Will of Oakfield; a son-in-law, Francis Marchese of Batavia; eight grandchildren, Paul (Sandra) Marchese of Batavia, Mark (Charlotte) Will of Gloversville, Matthew (Renee) Will of Alden, Scott (Ursula) Smith of Fairport, Robert (Melayne) Marchese of Austin, TX, Brian (Janet) Will of Poughquag, Todd (Lisa) Smith of Honeoye Falls and Donald (Lindsay) Will of Himrod; two brothers, Anthony Mudrzynski and Henry (Janet) Mudrzynski, both of Oakfield; a sister, Josephine Mudrzynski of Oakfield; a brother-in-law, Ralph Bauer of Oakfield; sister-in-law, Genevieve Mudrzynski of Elba; fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is the wife of the late John Koziel and Frank Brown, mother of the late Joan Marchese and sister of the late Bernice Marbel, Helen Bauer and Walter Mudrzynski.
Calling hours are Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Oakfield.
