A carefully preplanned service can be the most comforting to your family, as it spares them from having to face decisions that can be both emotionally and financially difficult at the time of death. Making pre-arrangements can be as simple or as detailed as you wish. You can make the selection of the services, casket, music, etc. or simply record the information that will be needed for legal forms and other paperwork.

Another reason to preplan is to ensure that your family will receive all of the benefits for which they are entitled. It is important that all of your personal records, including bank account numbers, investment information, insurance policy numbers and location of important papers be accessible to your family in the event of a death. All of this and your personal wishes for your funeral can be recorded ahead of time. It is very human to put things off.  But proper planning for the event of one's death can spare a family traumatic decisions and often financial burdens.  The desires and wishes for one's funeral can be pre-determined to eliminate confusion, differences of opinion and difficult decisions on the part of family members.

The H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Homes of Batavia and Bergen and the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home of Batavia have provided continuing service to the area since 1910 and 1924, respectively.  It has always been our goal to keep our community aware of the changes in funeral service.  We have been able to accomplish this by providing answers to the numerous questions we receive.  Our staff, which is the most experienced in the area, presently has over 135 years of combined service.
