Mrs. Ruth Alice Wagner

Batavia - Mrs. Ruth Alice Wagner, 88, a retired payroll clerk at P.W. Minor Shoe Factory in Batavia, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at her home.

Mrs. Wagner was born March 22, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late David H and Alice Stanton Grice.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and a 1937 graduate of Elba Central School.  For the last two years she resided at Victorian Manor where she truly enjoyed living and loved the friendships she made. 

Her husband, Squire Joseph Wagner died 2001 and her daughter, Sharon K. Wagner died in 1952.  She was the sister of the late Harold E. Grice and David W. Grice.

Survivors include two sisters; Doris (Harold) Tootell of Batavia and Audrey E. Aradine of Brockport; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Grice of Batavia and Rena Wagner of Elba.   She was the aunt of Kathy (John) Suttell, Mary (Steve) Smith, Patricia (Charles) Zambito, Jane (Keith) Monteleone, Kim (George) Ryan, Kevin (Judy) Aradine, Cory (Karen) Aradine, Steve (Brenda) Grice, JoAnne Beck, Joan (Bill) Stevens, Douglas (Betsy) Tootell, Deborah (Bob) Anderson and Susan (Mike) Ferris.  Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.  Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 405 E. Main St. or Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc., 16 Bank St., both Batavia, New York 14020.
